Family
Roughly Squad 11-- she and they don't always like each other, but they're stuck with each other
Husband: Kenpachi Zaraki
Daughter: Yachiru Kusajishi

Appearance: She appears as how she died, in her mid-20's. Standing at around 5'4" and 105 lbs., her body is boyish, lean, as her limbs yet they are somewhat muscular. She shaves her armpits but not her leg hairs, not minding the sparse fuzz. Sibuna's salt & pepper hair is short, stopping at around eye level, usually covering the right eye. The left side of her head is shaven.

Before her death, her straight hair reached past her butt, often tying it in a braided bun. When she lived in Rukongai and studied at Shin'ō Academy, she wore it in a bangless, jaw level bob held back by a headband. When she met Kenpachi upon membership into Squad 11, this was slicked back with gel.

Her eyebrows are sparse as well. Along with her eyes, horizontally, they are about her thumb and a fourth apart. She lines her eyes thickly with black make-up. The shape varies on her mood: from simple cat eyes to full blown panda smudge. Her standard look however covers the whole eyelid and past the water line, ending with a rounded wing. In war time, she paints a "mask"-- a horizontal line across the face, thickness ranging from the brows to the eyebags. Along with the eye make-up, her lips are pigmented a lilac or pale violet. Sibuna's nails are long, in rounded squares painted a glossy black. They top long, bony fingers. If they get too long for combat or sword holding, she trims them.

Her ears are small, only a little bigger than her eyes. Occasionaly, she'd wear the seal earrings.

She has large forehead, a flat rounded nose, an overbite, and a soft, squarish jaw. When she smiles, her blunt eyeteeth peek. Upon closer inspection, her face and body are littered with little scars, some blemishes, tiny moles, scars of past blemishes but nothing too bad a breakout. (A probable reason would be great healing quality from the members of Squad 4, whom she get along with.) However, traces of varicose veins hint her legs and small hands and feet while white callouses dot the corners by her toenails. Her hands are calloused from fighting but nightly coats of lotion and scrubbing in the bath help keep them soft. Her neck and shoulders are slender but her collarbones are prominent.

Her foot size (I'm using foot size here in the Philippines) is 5.

Shihakusho Customization: Sibuna wears black, all-terrain boots with socks, claiming that though light to tread in, it feels the same with kicking as is punching with brass knuckles. Her top consists of a fitted, navy sleeveless turtleneck. The top robes are either loosely tucked, lowered then tied at the waist, or simply draped on the shoulders. Since her first fight with her captain, the right sleeve remained ripped off.

Her zanpakuto, the Doble Kara, are worn on both hips.

The Zaraki wedding band, a gold ring patterned with yarrows is worn on the right ring finger. Sibuna keeps a necklace chain on hand for in battle, she wears it as a necklace, if not tucking it in her robes or belt for safe keeping.

17 months after Aizen's defeat, she can be seen wearing her earrings more frequently.

Hollow form: Snapdragon possesses a massive serpentine body about 35 feet long that tapers towards the end. From the end to the midsection, centipede-like legs lined each side. She had an elongated, crested mask that covered the neck and shoulders with the same material that covered the spine and nails. Its eyes were slanted and fangs jutted out of the horizontally long mouth. 2 large, spindly arms with unproportionally big hands, 9 fingers each, lined both sides, totaling 4 arms and 36 clawed fingers. In the middle of her chest was not only the hollow hole but a direct pit to her stomach. She would grab victims, open her ribs, encase them in her ribs, rip the head off with her jaws to taste her meal, and drop everything else into her belly for her fangs kept her jaws from opening wide enough (hence the name "Snapdragon").

Personality: Formerly, Sibuna was an artist (mostly a classical painter). But her family's easy life made her somewhat complacent and even bored with her craft. This is where the Bohemian fantasy stemmed. Perhaps, she might have thought, if she struggled while working, maybe she would have felt more alive. But in death, the fantasy was shattered as she quickly adapted to be more practical and resourceful. Upside was, fighting, whether in the streets of Rukongai or under the orders of the Seireitei, was the cure that made her feel alive again.

In the hollow, Sibuna reviled Snapdragon's existence; More so her uselessness to stop it. She especially hated tasting innocent blood and devouring people with high spiritual pressure who weren't even aware of their talents. Not knowing how things worked after death, she dared to witness everything, exclaiming to the hollow that if she got out, she'd do onto the Snapdragon what the hollow'd done to her victims. She was haughty and rebellious to the end.

During the Snapdragon vs. Kenpachi fight, Sibuna reveled in feeling all the pain of the hollow all the while, screaming that Snapdragon got what she deserved. It wasn't long into the fight did Sibuna start to actually relish the sting. This resulted into a side-effect: a borderline masochistic tendency.

Sibuna bites her lower lip and sometimes wrinkles her nose when aroused. This sometimes happens in fighting, all the more if its Kenpachi she's facing. But since their marriage, only Kenpachi can trigger this. However, it's rare but she chews her lower lip when she's worried and seldomly couples this with pacing.

Before her death, her speech was rather formal, uncontracted, and verbose. During the afterlife in Rukon and there after, this was shortened and given some slang.

She picks her ears in public. And she talks to her zanpakuto CONSTANTLY, even in their sealed form-- a conversation where only she can hear every reply and side comment. Sometimes she'll look like a crazy person walking around the Seireitei, seemingly talking to herself. But her close bond with the Doble Kara has a side-effect: she can hear other zanpakuto. Hear but not communicate, she only picks up inaudible whispers and grunts. Claims to have even heard whistling once. Presently, she's desensitized to the small din and only focuses on the two voices of Keek and Wakawa. However, when she watches her captain with a worthy opponent, she will hold her head or cover her ears. Not because she can't stand his spiritual pressure but because she can hear his zanpakuto screaming, likening it to nails on a chalkboard.

If she possesses any insecurities such as that with Captain Unohana, she won't bottle it up for fear they would pop up at a later date or worse, during a battle. She talks them out with Keek and Wakawa, never denying the existence of such feelings.

She also meditate-talks. It's like sleep-talking except it's when she's in deep meditation, visiting her inner world. One could get grunts, mumbling and incoherent phrases. It's rare but not entirely nonexistent to hear a full sentence. Distracting as it is, she prefers to meditate alone.

She's not exceptionally perceptive but she's a good listener among friends and colleagues. One wants to whine, one wants to talk, bawl, even criticize and correct her, she'll listen.

On her better days, she's amiable, polite and appreciative-- from healing her to following orders to correction, etcetera. One way she executes her appreciation for Captain Unohana and her team is their protection in her presence. Even when they're not around, even when Squad 11 isn't in the Squad 4 barracks, Sibuna will discipline any of her men who speak ill of the medical division which she holds in high regard as she feels healing others is harder than fighting. More often than not, she'll kick, headbutt and make them run laps around the perimeter of the Seireitei. If an offended division member of the 4th is still in her vicinity, she'll humbly apologize for her men's actions along with making them apologize while threatening them at the same time.

Some of her traits possess duality or another side. For example, she may not hold back in a fight. But that doesn't mean she's going to use up all her reiatsu in one go or on one enemy. She would still keep tabs on her pressure levels and use a barrage of different techniques, instead. She herself is a dichotomy in different aspects: a woman of mixed heritage, an artist who learned to be a fighter, among others.

She is cocky but careful. The reason why she can and will boast her abilities for many more years to come is that she doesn't take chances and never underestimates her opponents-- Sibuna has never done either. No holding back her plethora of techniques, just killer intent. (However, that doesn't stop her from berating an enemy.) This is because she knows defeat is as "inevitable as the sun setting"-- that someone will end up killing her eventually. And she won't know who that person is. But she's not afraid of death. Rather, she's afraid of reincarnating without her previous memories. But on the other hand, if she were to abstain from fighting indefinitely, she might as well have committed suicide.

She accepts any challenger from Squad 11 and she will prove her worth using zanjutsu only.

She tells herself that practicality must come before desire even though she could taste the fight longer and feel the pain of more wounds by prolonging the battle. That, and that there will be more battle to be had in the future. Another thought on the subject is that if members of the 11th division wanted to fight so badly, they pick it with each other rather than goad the other squads who don't want anything to do with them. She thinks that if they must fight, at least the opposing parties will retaliate. She also likens fighting to love-- it's only fun when it's reciprocated.

Sibuna sinned against a commandment that the Shin'o Academy taught: she finds beauty in battle. She's an artist in her core. It couldn't be helped. Yet for all her love of the battle, she gets it over with, done and won. She can even decide the outcome with the first move, whether head on or by surprise. Finishing the fight early doesn't only have practical reasons. Sibuna likened it to life, how it's more valued when short. She savors it better in its evanescence (at least, that's what she tells herself and everybody else, this clashing with the desire for more pain and fighting).

Paperwork-wise, she actually doesn't mind doing it but will take her sweet time. This is because she claims to be "rather proficient" in writing as well as interested in having to read what needs to be done. She also does haikus for "Seireitei Communication." She's able to multitask this with other activities such as replying to hell butterflies, talking to the Doble Kara and having tea time with Yachiru.

She also possesses a loud mouth without trying. Her voice just picks up sometimes, claiming it as a hereditary trait from her father. She's also quick to insult arrancars in the language they understand. Speaking in Spanish or not, if Yachiru is close, she herself or whoever's closer will be ordered to close Yachiru's ears as Sibuna curses.

If she's not sketching pictures of her comrades, writing, baking or fighting in her spare time, she's wandering the streets of nearby Rukon or walking on rooftops.

She likens the seal earrings to a leash, not exactly choking her but can feel it resting on her clavicle. 17 months after Aizen's defeat, she has adapted better to the seals and wears them daily.

Her favorite foods are beef salpicao and pork sisig served with freshly steamed rice and coupled with ice-cold Coca-cola. She doesn't consider it sisig unless it's sizzling on a sizzling plate. Sibuna also once dared Kenpachi, "if you're so damn strong and brave," to kiss her after eating a spoonful of natto.

Relationships:

Squad 11- Though considered likable by others in the Seireitei, Sibuna has gained the indignation of her squadmates for a lot of reasons. She'll allow their hatred, merely because she doesn't care for it. Those who face her in melee-only combat end up losing-- this, more or less, aids in her earning their respect. And as she positively reinforces behavior she approves of, such as giving them cookies she baked or freedom from chores as a reward for fighting with each other rather than bullying shinigami from the other sectors, their relationship grows less and less strained.

Yachiru Kusajishi- Sibuna reveres Yachiru greatly, her and her abilities for someone so young. Never once did she underestimate her lieutenant. Upon their introduction, she figured there was a reason someone so young would be given that rank, just as how there was a reason why she was allowed to choose her own seat. She grew extremely fond of Yachiru, shenanigans and all. Sibuna aids in some of them as well as partaking in nicknaming. On-duty, she always addresses her as "Lieutenant" or "President." Should Yachiru ask, she'd drop what she'd be doing to play along. If she's not busy, she'll join Yachiru in tea parties or drawing. She may even multitask paperwork with hanging out. Another element to their relationship is relatability, how without Kenpachi, neither of them would continue existing. Yachiru would also listen to her meditate-talk or try to reply to what she's saying, usually asking something silly. Off-duty, Sibuna calls her "Lt. Pinky" or "E.T" for "enfant terrible" but meant as a compliment. Illogically of her however, though she knows Yachiru "could probably level the whole Seireitei with her pinky finger," Sibuna can't help going into a rage if an enemy so much as points a finger at her. When she disappeared, Sibuna freaked out. "First... Kenpachi Yachiru... Now... Lieutenant? Yachiru?!"

Kenpachi Zaraki- Object of all her loyalty and love. However, she disagrees with him mainly on one thing: the zanpakuto. For Kenpachi, it's merely a tool. She thinks otherwise and nags him to talk to it so they get stronger together. Another thing she voices out in exasperation is his and Yachiru's talent for getting lost. When with them, she keeps them from becoming so by either climbing a high vantage point or flash stepping into the air. Another reason why Kenpachi loves her is her unpredicatbility in battle. She would almost always lose but her creativity keeps her fighting style--or any semblance of a style, from stagnating. Basically, it would be like falling in love all over again with each sparring session.

Yumichika Ayasegawa and Ikkaku Madarame- Dubbing them "Birdie & Baldy," Sibuna loves poking fun and arguing with the two. Often, she'd call them Yachiru's yayas/ yayos, "yaya" meaning maid or nanny. She tires of Yumichika always "bitching about somebody's looks." But in truth, she appreciates the two as much as anyone and sometimes hangs out with them. At some point in time, Sibuna managed to peek at Yumichika's shikai ability. She told him about it and questioned why care whether he be shunned or not-- if anyone wanted to fight with him, he has both the political and physical/ spiritual power to outdo them-- just as she doesn't care for her subordinates' revulsion. Yumichika did not take this advice, saying, "I have my reasons. Mainly because I'm not you." He continued with the secret. And yet, she swore secrecy along with whispering, "Yumichika... It's beautiful, Yumichika."

Squad 9- Given her background, it would have been the more suitable division to join. But she claims if it were more desk work and editing than fighting, she would have long gone nuts. Still, she submits poetry to Lieutenant Hisagi and he values her punctuality.

Squad 4- Holds them and their captain in high regard for she feels healing, whether aiding another person's or undergoing it yourself is harder than fighting. All the more when they have to deal with constant insults and may not even like the patient. "Quite frankly, I'm surprised no one's put poison in somebody's medicine yet." And so, she punishes her subordinates who so much as dare voice their ill will in her presence. This division also served her during her academy days when she'd get carried away with practice (e.g. attempting to perform a kido that was way above her current level and having it blown in her face).

Captain Unohana- Whenever she'd needed treatment and the captain would visit her, they would have lengthy talks and she'd enjoy her company, even inviting her on walks or treating her to a meal. Kenpachi Yachiru Unohana has all her love and admiration yet in her depths hides an aching jealousy, an ache that she feels no masochism for but accepts. She knows there is a fight only Capatin Unohana can give her husband, one that she doesn't even hold a candle to. It pains her as she talks about it with Keek and Wakawa. Yet upon her announced death, Sibuna stood in shock and disbelief. It was the first time anyone saw or heard her weep. When she wept hard, it was said that her howls echoed through out the barracks.

Ichigo Kurosaki- Thanks him for the joy he's brought Kenpachi and requests he spar with him again. Addresses him the suffix of -kun or calls him "Young Kurosaki." "I like you, kid. You got moxie. You got gumption. You. Got. It!"

Orihime Inoue- "Such a sweet lass. Wimpy but nice. But I don't care what Lieutenant Matsumoto says. I AIN'T TOUCHING HER COOKING WITH A 50-FOOT LONG ZANPAKUTO!" Gives her the suffix of -chan.

Captain Kuchiki- Isn't too keen on him but acknowledges his artistry yet, "Of all the characters to create, why seaweed?" Also is mildly surprised he didn't sense any of the association members' spiritual pressure in his manor.

Rukia Kuchiki- Gives constructive criticism and drawing tips.

Kukaku Shiba- Once did odd jobs for her before taking the entrance test. Considered her an awesome boss.

Any arrancar she comes across- "Kamusta, tonto (Sup, stupid)? Me llamo (I am) Sibuna Hagewashi-Zaraki-- I'm the shinigami who's gonna kick you in the cojones (balls). Entiendes (Understand)?" or a variation of this.

Quotes:

  • *before impaling a thing* "Taste my heritage."
  • "I AIN'T CRITICIZING YOUR SKILL, I'M CRITICIZING YOU, YE TWAT!"
     • "Those earrings don't look half bad on you."
"
Yeah? Well, they feel more like a collar."

  • "Oh, please. I don't kiss ass. I mean what I say. And speaking of asses, Ikkaku, yours is bald."
  • "So let me get this straight: you guys. Wanna fight me. Because you feel I don't deserve my position? Alright-- That's more like it! YOU GET A COOKIE! AND YOU GET A COOKIE! AND YOU GET A COOKIE! I'm so proud! Instead of badgering some random wimp from Squad 4, you guys came to me-- somebody who LOVES fighting back! That's wonderful progress right there! No chores for three days! Now let's get to the training ground and get our zanjutsu on, yes?"
  • "Damn, my spiritual pressure's on point today. Oh wait no-- that's just my sass."
    • "Your level doesn't fit you rank..."
"No... They fit the wife of a Kenpachi!"

     • *during the fight with Yammy Llargo "Woman, what the hell are you doing?"
"Come to think of it, in the 110 years we've been married, I don't think we've ever once shared an opponent."
"That's because we've never needed or allowed each other's help before."
"Huh. Neat. When this is through, deal with me however you wish of a 4th seat-- fine. But for now, fight alongside me as my husband!"

     • Yumichika: Sibuna... What exactly did you do?
Sibuna: I told the Captain, "Hey, honey. Want a really good match?" and he says, "Yeah," and I says, "Go to that bald guy over there and tell him EXACTLY what I say."
Ikkaku: And what did you say?
Sibuna: I says, "Hey, buddy. Guess what I have that you don't: a wife and a daughter!"
Yumichika: Uh-huh. And who is that?
Sibuna: Kratos, the Greek God of War

---Bio---

Born and bred in Manila, Philippines (circa 1800's) to an artisan housewife and a Japanese businessman with a thing for Egyptology and into a relatively influential home. Sibuna was taught arnis at an early age-- too early. The only memories kept alive were the very basics for she had let the sport go in order to focus following in her mother's footsteps. Learning about western artists, she fantasized on the Bohemian lifestyle, thinking it was all art and freedom. The true struggle never crossed her mind as she thought of traveling to Europe to join them. She would never get the chance. On her 24th year, she moved to her father's hometown of Sapporo, Hokkaido. A year later, she broke her ankle and neck in a cliffside accident.

Her spirit watched over her family for 6 months. No shinigami came and Sibuna suffered hollowfication. Inside Snapdragon, her spirit remained conscious but was powerless to stop the hollow's actions. Snapdragon could hear her thoughts as well as Sibuna's screams as she felt the hollow's actions, desires and even physical pain. Spilling innocent blood drove her mad-- ineffective but defiant, useless yet rebellious. Sibuna would fight for control for some seconds but Snapdragon would overpower her in the end. The longest she could control was 5 seconds. It stayed like this for 3 months until Kenpachi Zaraki came and exorcised the hollow after a prolonged battle.

Resuming consciousness in Rukongai, Soul Society, Sibuna vowed loyalty to find the "pinya (pineapple)-haired man" and swear loyalty to him for her emancipation. A fragment of the mask somehow came along with her. She decided to keep it as a reminder. But naturally, she had nothing at first. In poverty, despite making friends in the community, she chose a solitary lifestyle. Arnis basics were used to fend for herself. She became a thief, a scavenger, a mercenary, a laborer-- anything but begging or prostitution to stay alive. She didn't care who she fought or killed for as long as the employers paid. With the money, she used and saved for basic needs. Any urge to draw or paint was snuffed out by practicality. In a place such as the Rukon district, there is no time or money for a luxury such as art. Her focus for this she let go in favor of skills that needed to be applied. Here, that Bohemian fantasy was shattered. With her light body and relatively small buildings, she learned some parkour-- mostly just learning how to jump, run, climb. Nothing too fancy. When she felt the time was right, she sought the academy entrance exams and passed. The stock knowledge that she learned when she was alive, reading books and a good schooling, aided in that.

It took all 6 long years of hard labor, practice and studying to gain an exceptional level as she learned and applied most, if not all the techniques. If one were to range from her strongest subject to the weakest, it would be Zanjutsu, Kido, Hoho, then Hakuda. Comparatively noteworthy among her batch due to her unorthodox applications but by no means on an actual master at that point on each discipline. Imprinting her Asauchi wasn't hard, however. Her core and heritage being of an artistic individual coupled with the duality of what she needed to be helped. To her, making that zanpakuto was the one thing that didn't feel like an eternity to develop. The asauchi split into two during her first year, eventually becoming the Doble Kara. Even in their sealed form she talks to them non-stop.

Bankai was reached within the end of her freshman year. However, full perfection was obtained 10 years later along with the special skill and the permission to use in battle. Only then was Sibuna able to interchange the shikai special skills on each hand separately.

After the Gotei 13 admittance test that followed graduation from Shin'o Academy, she was allowed to choose a vacant position no higher than 4th seat in any of the 13 Court Guard Squads. Naturally, she chose the 11th Squad.

Upon her introduction and first day, she managed to kiss the captain, tease her 3rd and 5th seat officers, and slash and discipline members of the sub-unit that was supposed to be under her. Customarily, she also faced Kenpachi in a battle as initiation as an officer. They fought for hours until she, still standing, conceded the fight. Captain Zaraki protested as she stated she still had one good fight left in her for the night. But instead of returning to Kenpachi, she humbly challenged Lieutenant Kusajishi, only to be punched into a wall a second later. When Yachiru went near to get a good look at the seemingly passed out Sibuna, Sibuna grabbed her by the ankle and started tickling her. When Yachiru could tell her to stop, she did so, honoring Yachiru as the winner. This encounter with her lieutenant lasted about 12 seconds tops-- a new Squad 11 record. When she was alone at last, she visited the shinigami she had cut at lunch, making sure he apologized word for word as she crushed his wounds. Sure that he was sincere enough, she told a member of Squad 4 to enter and treat the wound, having already contacted them earlier. Before she left, she threatened him one last time that should he take advantage of this kindness, she would punish him.

Initially, though she adored the "happy madness" that her division and its ambiance brought, the squad did not reciprocate her feelings. She was and was not a lot of things that caused ire among the men. But over time, they had learned to accept and respect her and what they felt were flaws to a regular member of the 11th Division.

Sibuna grew fonder of her lieutenant with each passing day, often playing along with her games and antics along with attending the Shinigami Women's Association. One of the games they play together is 3 yard candy catch where in one of the players has to catch candy (thrown by the other player) with their mouth from 3 yards away. At some point, Yachiru set her father and Sibuna up. It worked. Gradually, she and Kenpachi started to date-- for a lack of better term for going out to dinner and sparring til the sun rose. 10 years later, she proposed. He said yes to the engagement but no to the marriage until she got stronger. Captain Zaraki had no interest in making someone who relied as close a she did on all the other disciplines (mainly Kido) other than Zanjutsu as his mate. So she trained with him for 5 years until he was satisfied in a battle where they managed to impale each other. For him and battles with him, she forsook her variety.

On their wedding day, after the ceremony and before the banquet, Sibuna took Kenpachi and Yachiru aside. She both gave them compasses requested from the SRDI. Kenpachi's compass looks like a huge, burnt gold pocket watch that fits in his palm. Yachiru's was small and fit behind a circular pendant. On the compass lid and front side of the pendant was the yarrow insignia. Behind the lid, the side facing the compass were the words "May you always find me." Both devices are embedded with Sibuna's reiatsu and have a violet third arm that points to where she is. Kenpachi's gift however were silver earrings that functioned like his eyepatch, also from the SRDI. But instead of eating her power away, rather, it's simply a seal that keeps her at approximately 55%. Mainly, she does two things when sparring with her husband: use only Zanjutsu and wear the earrings. (The first time she actually wore them was due to a deal: the two had lost their compasses and if they found them, she'd fight Kenpachi with the earrings on.) During the banquet, she claimed the self-imposed title of Madame Zaraki and asked those under her to address her by it. They complied. On their first anniversary, Sibuna gave the hollow mask fragment to Kenpachi, a symbol of her loyalty and appreciation.

After awhile (post- Aizen's defeat)  as she got stronger, she did realized she did need to keep a bigger seal on her spirit pressure and eventually began wearing the earrings daily.

---Battle Information (for shinigami)---

Strengths: -Levels: Zanjutsu- Master, Kido- Expert, Hoho- Practitioner, Hakuda- Practitioner
-Creativity for combination of techniques and disciplines
-Unpredictability
-Some parkour
-Resourcefulness
-High adaptability

Weaknesses: -the chains and cords of her zanpakuto (including shikai and bankai abilities) are very extensive but not unlimited
-weak stealth game/ occasional unintentional loud mouth
- nonexistent plans and strategies
-relatively light body can be easily thrown around/ turned into a ragdoll
-agile enough but not the most flexible of shinigami (She can barely touch her toes without someone pushing her)
-Latigo and the bankai's abilities' direction aren't controlled by will

Fighting Style: Due to her erratic, dirty fighting, many an 11th Division member has considered her a coward. However, she thinks herself creative and will utilize all she's learned and even the environment. She's not above sneak/ blind spot attacks and throwing dust into someone's eyes, if not gouging them. She will apply forms or break them down strike by strike and mix and match with others. She may even use her words in an attempt to sway the foe. Strength lies in her variety. She will recite incantations under her breath to avoid the enemy from hearing her. She has coined a rather unorthodox, if not unique set of moves. An example is the Shakkaho Shuffle a.k.a The Sibuna Slide Cannon where in if the ground is smooth (e.g the tiled floors of the Seireitei), at a considerable distance she will run at her opponent while muttering the spell under her breath then slide like a baseball player. Depending on the size of the enemy, she either slides between their legs or completely past them, doing a u-turn and then shooting Shakkaho. Aside from slides, she also tackles, often the lower limbs. The more distracted the enemy, the better. Once, during a zanjutsu sparring session at Shin'o Academy, the instructor told her it was no holds barred. She chucked the practice sword at her opponent and as he ducked, she slid past him, arm knocking down his legs then straddling him, hands on his throat.

Most times, she doesn't hold back in terms of technique. But often, her fighting can be divided into stages: first, she uses only Keek; Eventually, she unsheathes Wakawa; Then, she releases them; Pangil ng Halimaw comes first; Then, Latigo; Then, a combination of the two, one on each arm, interchangeable; Then, Bankai; Then, the Bankai ability. Sometimes, she will ask them to return to their sealed form. The deeper she is into the stages, the tougher the enemy. Any of the other disciplines may be inserted within the battle. Kido-wise, though she can perform some spells without the incantation, she'll recite them anyway for maximum effect.

Though Pangil ng Halimaw provides different attacks in its different blades, Latigo gives just as much in its simple form. She'll whip in all 3 dimensions, she'll lengthen or shorten the cord in mid swing, she'll flash step into the air then let gravity take over then force her body to spin horizontally, releasing the cords-- a myriad of techniques limited only by Sibuna's imagination.

Zanpaku-to: Collectively, Doble Kara ("two-faced"); the right kampilan's spirit is Keek and the left's Wakawa (taken from the Ekek and Wakwak of Philippine mythology, these are bird-like creatures with vampiric or beastly quality.) The Doble Kara are two identical kampilan swords. Instead of hair tassels decorating the end of the top half of the bifurcated pommel, the tassels are feathers of a carrion bird, possibly a condor or vulture. They're gathered by woven fibers. The handle possesses some carved metal capping above the crossguard and under the pommel then wrapped over with braided and non-braided abaca. The crossguard is decorated with yarrow carvings its sides are shaped like wavy brackets.

Sealed form: Two nondescript arnis sticks

Spirits: Keek and Wakawa are twins wearing the same garb: a fluffy cowl consisting of semi plume feathers followed by small, stiff shoulder pads that lightly flare off and are layered with the tips of contour feathers; Keek's left arm and Wakawa's right arm are covered in a sleeve of soft tail feathers (similar to a rooster's) stemming from the shoulder pad-- it runs about an inch past their fingertips; A fitted, sweetheart cut tube top covered in the same feather tips as the shoulder pads stops at the waist in a v seam; It's backless, ending in a v cut at the lower back; Under the top is a flowy skirt tucked underneath; It runs all the way to their soles-- a top-down gradient going from opaque to translucent; Their open shoes have ankle straps and capped toes as their thick platform soles end in talons. Charmed ear cuffs meant to resemble elf or demon ears decorate them. Overall, they stand at 6 feet. Their skin is stark white along with black hair and deep red eyes. Their faces are like upside-down tears. And their nails are like sharp metal diamonds, each with four facets. The twins' bodies are like cyborgs except instead of robotic parts, they possess puppetly qualities. Keek's dominant right arm, hands and fingers and Wakawa's left ones appear ball-jointed. Lines run down the sides of Wakawa's mouth like a nutcracker. Keek wears a somewhat steampunk-esque mask resembling a beak or plague doctor that covers half her face. Rings don the beak side along with respirators on the nose. She sports full bangs and straight hair that ends where her thighs begin. Wakawa however, wears welder spectacles tinted green along with a deep red lipstick. Her hair is nape-long and slicked back. Personality-wise, Keek is more aggressive, rash and occasionally snarky as Wakawa is more reserved, silent. But both will listen to Sibuna's voice and give their share of comments even in their sealed form. (However, during the zanpakuto revolution, Wakawa was the one who acted out while Keek was more reluctant. Under Muramasa's brainwashing, Wakawa claimed to be tired with being the calm voice of reason for her twin and mistress.)

Most of the time, when manifesting outside the inner world, especially in Bankai, the two appear conjoined at the midsection.

The inner world is a surreal landscape either set in eternal sunrise or sunset. The huge, red sun is suspended in the middle between vertical, parallel bodies of warm liquid. The sun doesn't meet either ends of the horizon but a white tree with aqua leaves on both ends connects the bodies of liquid. Both top and lower branches carry lanterns. Patterns of butterflies glide in the water as oriental paintings of fish come alive in the "sky." Between the upper and lower bodies of liquid, viscous droplets pass about and will often stay suspended in mid air, crystallizing. Even after they crystallize, butterflies inside will still be able to move about.

Proper meditation technique for Sibuna to enter the inner world is to lay at least her head in a shallow body of water, zanpakuto layered on her chest. Upon entering, she will usually see Wakawa sitting on an upper branch and Keek on a lower branch, appearing upside down at first, though her hair and clothes fall to the branch she sits on. Should Sibuna walk up the tree, the gravity that follows her are where her feet touch. In the inner world, Sibuna's attire is sarashi on her chest and her hakama. She may grab into the liquid and the shape of a blobby kimono will follow. It won't wet the skin but will feel warm. Like the hovering crystals, should butterflies get trapped, they still can fly about.

Release Phrase: "Guide my hands, Doble Kara"

Return Phrase: "Magsibalik." (Return)

Shikai: Two kampilan

Shikai Special Abilities:
These armored gauntlets encase the whole forearm but compared to any of their forms during the special abilities, the simple shikai form looks almost skeletal, framing the forearm like a brace. Underneath the gauntlets are black gloves that reach to the armpits. Padding protects the palms.
  • Pangil ng Halimaw (Fang of the Beast)- Armor covers the whole arm, shoulders and fingers. A metal band connecting the two arms run across and hovers above the chest. On the shoulders hover plates fantastic for ramming. Huge blades jut out from the elbows and at rest they run past the shoulders. Hovering sleeves similar to the shoulder rams float above the forearm and flare in a curve to the back of the hand. The jointed armor on the fingers and nails provide claws. Basically, Pangil ng Halimaw is a form great for ramming, ripping, slicing and puncturing. And climbing, depending on the terrain and how hard and/or deep is her grip.
  • Latigo (Whip)- Encases the upper arm, shoulders and ties across the chest with a material similar to a racecar's window net. The forearms possess braces that end in a crescent shape atop the hand. On each brace, two grappling hooks mount the crescent while two are mounted under the wrist. The four cord reels run along the whole arm in a spiral pattern. Each hook, slightly heavier than a cord, appears as long as a thumb-- a rounded, metal diamond with no facets that have a sharp edge. Connecting the cord and hook is a small round ball fused with the hook. Open, the hooks resemble a flower with thick, sharp, jagged petals. Should they sink into flesh and forced/ pulled out, a chunk of skin will follow. The cord speed, hook opening and closing, and cord return are controlled either by will or reiatsu. Mainly good for but not limited to choking, climbing and beating a foe.
Bankai: Kadena ng Buwitreng Bruha (Chains of the Vulture Witch)- The Doble Kara return to their skeletal shikai form as Sibuna raises her arms like a puppet. A 10 foot tall rift resembling a giant crystal hovers behind and follows her around. From the rift emerge Keek and Wakawa conjoined, two heads on one set of shoulders. They emerge no farther than their hips and are about as big as Mayuri Kurotsuchi's Kojiki Ashisogi Jizo. The twins' arms mimic Sibuna's. However, her reiatsu or will power controls the launching of their sharp metal nails which are pulled back with heavy chains.

Bankai Special Ability:
  • Lawa ng Kambal: Kristal at Salamin (Lake of the Twins: Crystals and Mirrors)- The crystal behind her disappears and Sibuna crosses her forearms under her face, palms up. Liquid begins to flow from the gauntlets, generously coating the ground the enemy stands on. When the flowing stops, Sibuna raises her fists high and drops to her knees, punching the wet ground. Droplets of varying size rise and crystallize, hovering in mid air. Sibuna either returns the zanpakuto to Pangil ng Halimaw, Latigo, or one on each arm. Should the enemy look inside the crystals, he/she either sees Keek or Wakawa walking separately within as the twins still mirror Sibuna's movements. When Sibuna attacks, they attack-- hooks, scratches, etcetera would come from three main sources. Should a hook collide with another crystal, it will enter one facet and exit another. Sibuna could also use the crystals as portals for her hands only, being able to scratch, punch, what have you from far away.
Equipment:
  • Earrings- Developed by the SRDI and given by Kenpachi to her as a marriage gift, these silver threader earrings with metal rounded diamond charms and intricate ear cuffs seal her power to only around 55%.
---Notes---

-One of the important lessons I learned from my writing club teacher waaaaaaay back when I was a wee high schooler is to start with what you already know. Naturally and for fear I might screw up some profound-ass name with "soy sauce," I used my native language/ one of the languages I already know aside from English and Pig Latin. Plus, we Filipinos have Spanish roots. It wouldn't be too hard to insult arrancars.

-If I were to choose a voice for her, my first choice would be Mindy Sterling (Lin Beifong, "Legend of Korra"), then Olivia Morgan, if she could do without an accent (James Kidd/Mary Read "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag"), or Susan Egan (Megara, Disney's "Hercules" and Lin, the English dub of "Spirited Away") as a third choice

-I was tempted to write "Wingardium Leviosa!" in the Release Phrase and "LEEEEEROY JENKINS!" in the quotes

-I had half a mind to incorporate/ get inspired by characteristics from "Portal's" Cave Johnson, "Team Fortress 2's" The Soldier/ John Doe and "Legend of Korra's" Iknik Blackstone Varrick but thought, nah, too zany. Speaking of zany, I sometimes imagine her lines being delivered by Demoman Travis de Groot, also of "Team Fortress 2."

-I also thought of a fight where Kenpachi instead of screaming "talk dirty to me," he screams "talk violent to me" and Sibuna replying about impaling or gutting him or something to that effect but decided against it.

Also, I used a lot of Kemmasandi's own OC's a references and examples. I've been pouring over this OC for more than a week-- mainly because I'm a procrastination-happy bum. So tell me what y'all think about her and I'd be happy for some constructive criticism. ^^
